Welcome to our NEW AT SU! Blog hop! We are a group of Stampin!”Up! demonstrators from around the world who are Hoppin!”with creative paper crafting ideas to share with you. Today we are showcasing products from the annual and January to Juin Stampin!”Up! Catalog.” We were asked to case the annual catalogue but with a little twist-using products from the Jan-Juin mini catalogue. So here goes.

If you have been following me, you may know that I am a fanatic for slimline cards. I can’t get enough of them. So, while I was looking for something to case, I saw the perfect card that I wanted to case on page 17 of the annual catalogue.

However, I had no idea how I was going to do it. As I was looking through my stash, I spotted my flowering tulips stamp set. I stamped the flowers across the top using Rich Razzleberry and Fresh Freesia and some masking, but I wasn’t getting the “slanted right side. So, I stamped and cut out 6 more. I threw a few pink ones as I found there was just too much purple. I stacked the flowers in sort of a triangle, put some polished dots in the center of each flower.

I added some wink of stella purple splatters, wrapped Fresh Freesia ribbon and a sentiment; glued it all to a Slimline card base (8-1/2 x 7, folded at 3-1/2 on the 7-inch side). Added a 3-1/4 x 8-1/4 piece of Basic white, stamped with a tulip on the bottom right and voila!

Oh! let’s not forget the envelope! Stampin’ Up! has made it sooo easy with the new slimline envelopes. Since we cannot let an envelope go “naked”, I stamped a tulip on the bottom right.

The most difficult you will ever make

We know we all will have to make this card. It is not a fun card to make, so rarely we have one on hand. I know I only create them as I need them. I think it is because we create sympathy cards according to the recipients. I call these close to the heart cards. My brother-in-law lost his brother this week, so, I needed a sympathy card. I like these to be simple but touching. I love this layout as it can say many things, depending on the papers used. This is the card I made for my BIL and his familly.

I used the papers from New Horizon and the sentiment from my favorite SAB freebie. (The french version of Special Moments.) Card base is a standard 5-1/2 x 4-1/4; first layer is the backside of one of the horizon papers. I embossed the 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 Cinnamon cider cardstock with the splatters embossing folder and glued it at angle. Stamped birds and the Cat tails on the Horizon Paper and glued it at the opposite angle. The sentiment is stamped on white cardstock and cut out with the die from the Horizon dies. Cut another piece and glued offset behind the sentiment.

It’ s all about Sale a Bration

Welcome to the January New at SU blog hop, where a group of Stampin’ Up!® demonstrator’s around the world are overjoyed to share projects inspiring you to create.

This month is the first month of Sale-a-Bration and of course it is the January theme. Each of us will present a project using Sale a Bration products.

My project today is featuring Designer Series Paper you can choose for a 60$ CAD. Now this paper coordinates with the Daffodil Daydream bundle, but I don’t have that bundle….yet. So I want to show you how to use the paper even if you don’t have the coordinating set. You will also see I am using a stamp set from the Sale a Bration brochure – “Special Moments”. I love this set as it is full of beautiful sentiments. It is available to choose from for free with a 120$ CAD order. Let’s get started.

You know I love the slimline cards. They are my fav. The base starts with an 8-1/2 x 7 piece of cardstock and is folded at 3-1/2 on the 7” side. Most slimline cards I see are landscape, but I chose portrait, just because.

The first layer is a piece of Evening Evergreen about 1/8” smaller all around. The focal point here is the “floating” rectangles. I used 6 one-inch strips and glued them evenly on a piece of 2-3/4 x 7-1/2 window sheet.

I then added adhesive foam strips to the back and adhered it to a piece of embossed Pale Papaya cardstock.

Since I noticed a Daisy in the paper, I stamped and cut two medium daisies with the medium daisy punch. Of course, I had to have ribbon on my card, so I put the Evening Evergreen behind the daisy.

The Happy Birthday is all on one line in the Special Moments Stamp set, but I wanted it to be on two circles. So, I used the Polished Pink Stampin’ Marker and inked Happy on one circle and Birthday on the other circle. I love the gradient look! Easy Peasy.  I didn’t have to make my envelope because….drum roll please… we now have ready made envelopes for Slimline cards in the January-June 2022 catalogue!

Anything but a card !

Anything but a card is our theme for the month of December. It is the perfect theme just before Christmas.

I have a few little things I needed small boxes for and I created these cute little 3-1/4 x 3-1/4. This size is perfect for what I needed, but they are a great size for 3 x 3 cards and enveloppes also.

I wanted a clean finish ( a lip) so once I knew what size I needed (3-1/4 x 3-1/4 by 1 inch and wanted a fold-over of 3/4). So I used cardstock that measures 6-3/4 x 6-3/4, scored at 3/4 and 1-3/4; cut of the small tab on all 4 corners and angle all tabs and the flaps on all four sides. Glue the tabs to form your box. Add tape to the inside of the flaps and fold over giving a smooth finish. You can watch the video for a more complete explanation. How I arrived at my measurements.

Welcome to our NEW AT SU! Blog hop! We are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world who are Hoppin’ every month, with creative paper crafting ideas to share with you. This month we are, of course, focusing on Christmas. So, here’s the deal. Our kids and grandkids are at the age when they appreciate gift cards more than gifts. I don’t think I ever appreciated gift cards. I would rather receive a gift I can’t use, than a gift card. But today kids are different and that’s OK. They are great and they would never tell us they prefer the moola, but a grandma knows! LOL.

Of course, we can’t (well, we can, but would never, right?) just hand a gift card. So, what do we do? We package them in little greeting cards, or wallet gift holders. I do a Mystery Stamping once a week on my Facebook group and the card I am showcasing today is the very first one I did. Of course, I had a little help. Namely Sharon Armstrong. She is the person that introduced me to Mystery Stamping and I am so glad she did. My group members just love it.

Ok enough chit chat. You dropped by to see my card. I don’t know if this fold has a name, but it is so cute, I had to re-do it.

To reproduce this card, you will need cardstock 4-1/4 x 11, scored and folded at 2-3/4 and 5-1/2; (the 2-3/4 fold gets folded in the opposite direction of the 5-1/2 fold, so I guess we call it a “Z” fold); Cut another piece of cardstock 3-1/2 x 9, scored and folded at 4-1/2 and a piece of coordinating cardstock that measures 4-3/4 x 4.

You will cut DSP pieces as follows:

2 pieces measuring 4 x 3-1/4. On one piece, cut a half circle at the top (to see the gift card when inserted. Glue that piece to the inside back of the small card.
(Hint: put glue only on the two sides and bottom of DSP creating a pocket to insert a gift card. I helps if you put the gift card down before sticking the DSP. The opening is not so tight,)

Stamp a sentiment or write a message on the bottom of the small card. When I was editing my project photos, I realized that I put an English sentiment on the front and stamped a French sentiment on the inside. It’s a good thing my grandkids are bilingual. LOL

Glue the cardstock (4-3/4 x 4) to the inside of the large card. Then glue the small card to the cardstock on the inside of the card base.

Glue the piece of DSP (4 x 2-1/2) to the small front panel of the card base.

Create an image or sentiment about 1 to 1-1/2″ and put dimensionnals only at the bottom. Adhere it the bottom of large card. Tuck the bottom of the small card under the sentiment.. Let’s not forget to decorate our envelope.

I created a wreath for my focal point. I cut one in Evening Evergreen, one in Soft Succulent and of course one in gold; layered the wreaths together off centering them to mak a fuller wreath. Added an Evening Evergreen bow with a gold bow on top and glued the to the top of the wreath. Who ever heard of a wreath without a bow, right?

Welcome to our NEW AT SU! Blog hop! We are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world
who are Hoppin’ with creative paper crafting ideas to share with you. Today we are showcasing Masculine Cards.

I just love the Peaceful Cabin stamp set. I have to admit, I was a little hesitant to purchase it at first. I just did not realize the versatility of it. But Whoa! I saw a couple of samples and I got hooked. Of course, I did not invent the fancy fold of this card nor was the idea of using it for other than a Christmas/Winter card, but I do love how mine turned out. I was inspired by a couple of You Tube videos. (Create with Christi and Cheri’s cards). I changed up the colours and added some “shrubs”.There are some other really great ideas for the stamp set on You Tube.

The fold used here is called Corner flap card. ( I think LOL) I stamped the cabin with Memento Ink on Crumb Cake cardstock and colored the roof with Cinnamin Cider Blends. I touched up the middle of the roof areas with the white blending brush. I then applied Pear Pizzaz ink with a blending brush on the area that is meant to be snow. To add a bit of depth, I tapped on some Evening Evergreen on the grey areas. I then die-cut the cabin with the matching die.

I cut out 4 clouds to use as masks and placed them on a piece of white cardstock (4 x 2-3/4). (I have to admit, the placement of the clouds is copied exactly like Christi’s.) Why re-invent the wheel, right? I created the sky by brushing on some Balmy Blue with my blending brush, leaving some white. When I removed the masks, I added a tiny bit of blue so the clouds would not look so white (another tip Christi shared).

I stamped the trees on my new favorite coloured cardstock and ink, Evening Evergreen, cut them out with the matching dies and glued them behind the cabin and glued the cabin and trees to the the cardstock with the sky. I glued it all to a Crumb Cake mat.

For the fold of the card, I aligned a piece of 4-1/4 x 11 Crumb Cake in the paper cutter with the 11 inch side at the top, at 8 inches and cut. The piece that I cut off was used to create the mat for the cabin scene. I then scored the carton at 5-1/2.

A piece of DSP (2-1/4 x 4) was glued to the outer panel of the card and a piece of 4 x 5-1/4 to the inside of the card.

A piece of 2 x 2 DSP was cut in two diagonally and adhered the the corner of the vanilla cardstock, adding glue only to the top and side of the triangle. The focal point (cabin) can be tucked under the triangle.

Add some linen thread around the panel and some Copper embellishments and voila, a cute masculine card.

I really wanted to show that the Peaceful Cabin stamp set can be used all year round.

August – September Sale a Bration 2021

Welcome to our New at SU Blog Hop. For the month of August, the theme is Sale a Bration. What is Sale a Bration? Well, it is the biggest Stampin’ Up! promotion of the year. Normally it is from January to March. This year Stampin’ Up tried something different. We have two periods of Sale a Bration. We had one in January and February and this one is August and September. Of course, with it coinciding with the publication of the mini catalogue July December, the SAB brochure has some fun Christmas papers and that is what I will be featuring. I made these cute bags with hanging cards. It is something I learned last year from Ronda Wade. I adjusted the measurements this year to go with my bags. Both bags are made from papers in the SAB brochure coordinating with bundles from the Mini July to December catalogue. All you need is one piece of DSP and a 6 x 2-7/8 of another piece. On one bag I used the Penguin Place DSP which coordinates with the Bundle Penguin Place and the other was made with the Peaceful Prints coordinating with the Peaceful deer.

Starting with a 12 x 12 paper, cut it down to 12 x 10. If your paper has a direction, make sure the direction is sideways when cutting down. Put the 2-inch strip aside for the moment.

Once cut place paper with the 12-inch side along the top and score at 2 – 5-3/4 – 7-3/4 and 11-1/2.

Turn once to the right and score at 2 inches and at 9 inches. While your score board is out, the the 2-inch strip, cut it in half and score each piece at 1/8 and 3/4 .

Burnish all the score lines. With the side you want as the outside of your bag face-up, put tear & tape along the edge of the 1-inch side, remove the backing and fold it down revealing the other side of the beautiful paper.

On the bottom (2-inch) side cut the score lines up to the 2-inch score line.  Remove the small tab. Meter the tabs.

Put tear & tape on the front side of the small tab and fold over. Remove backing and fold over the other side, making the first form of our bag.

Add tear & tape to the backside of the tabs. Fold over the large tab from the back to the front and glue the side tabs to it. Fold over the other large tab from front to back and glue in place.

Take each of the 1-inch scored strips, add glue and fold over. Curve them with your fingers or a bone folder.  These will be the handles.

Punch two holes in the front and back of the bag and at each end of the handles.  Add square brads to hold the handles in place. (note: I colored the brads on the Penguin bag with Freesia Blends)

I used the hanger method to decorate the front to the card. Cut a piece of coordinating card stock at 3-1/4 x 1-1/2. Cut an opening of 2-3/4 x 1/2. I used the smallest rectangle die and lengthened the length of the hole. You could just use you paper cutter. Add glue to the top and sides of the hanger and glue to bag.

For the card, I cut a piece of 2-1/2 x 6 piece of Design series paper and folded it in half. A strip on contrasting DSP of 1 inch by 2-1/2 helped to decorate the front. I punched the deer from the DSP and 2 more from white card stock. Glued all three pieces together to reenforce the deer.  

The sentiment is from the Peaceful Deer stamp set, inked in Cherry Cobbler and punched out with the duo ovals punch. The deer and the sentiment are adhered to the card with Dimensionals.  I added a piece of white card stock to the inside for signing. A little bow on the deer with bakers’ twine finishes the card. Slide it in the hanger and there you have it.

My favorite new bundle – Beauty of Friendship Bundle

Welcome again to our New at SU Blog Hop. For the month of June, we were asked to create a project using our favorite Bundle from the new annual catalogue. It was pretty hard to choose just one, so with Fathers’ Day just around the corner I decided to use the new Beauty of Friendship bundle . I love this bundle and I guess I am not the only one. We are two others offering projects with this bundle. It was hard to choose. My card was inspired by Lisa Curcio.

To start with, I used a piece of 8-1/2 x 1-5-1/2 Mossy Meadow cardstock, folded in half on the 8-1/2 side at 4-1/4.

On the front of the card starting at the fold, mesure in 1-1/4 inch in and cut down. Repeat this at the other end.

Cut two panels of Misty Moonlight cardstock at 1-1/8 x 5-3/8, two DSP panels at 1-5-1/4. Glue the DSP to the cardstock and glue to each of the side panels.

Open the card and attach the two panels using a 1-1/4 x 5-3/8 window sheet.

For the middle panel, I cut a piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock at 2-3/4 x 4 and a piece of contrasting DSP, 2-5/8 x 3-7/8, glued the two together and adhered them to the middle panel.

For the inside, I used a piece of Basic White (5-3/8 x 4). I glued two panels of cardstock 1-1/4 x 4 and two DSP pieces at 1-1/8 x 3-7/8. I glued these to the very edges of the white cardstock and then glued to the inside. The middle panel should fall between the two inside panels.

I cut the large tree from the DSP (wood pattern) and just the top of the same tree and glue the opposite side to the branches. I glued the tree to the right panel of the card, being careful to put dimensionnals only where the tree hit the panels. I did the same with the small tree and attached it also with dimensionnals.

I stamped the sentiment on a scrap piece of DSP from the In Good Taste collection and the stamp set Handsomely Suited and glued it to the window sheet panel. I finished by adding some twine and Guiled Gems and a couple of birds.

Fun Fold with new InColors

Welcome again to our New at SU Blog Hop. For the month of May, we were asked to do a fun fold using the new InColors.  I just love these new InColors. I think they are my favorite. Of course, I say that with every new set of InColors. Stampin’ Up! really know what is trending.

I used the new Polished Pink as the base of my gatefold card with flaps. It isn’t really a double gatefold. just love how this color goes together with the Designer Series Paper Ice Cream Corner which is retiring at the end of June.

This is an easy fun fold. All you need is a piece of 5-1/2 x 11 piece of cardstock, score at 1-1/4, 3-1/2,
7-1/8 and 9-5/8. The Designer series paper is cut at 5-/12 x 1 (2x); 5-1/2 x 2 (4X), fold the 2 inch panels toward the middle and the 1-1/4 panels toward the outside. Easy peasy, right?

I created a belly band wrapping a 1” piece of Designer series paper around the card. And cut it off just before both ends met (about 1 x 8). I stamped the sentiment in Fresh Freesia and of course the ice cream scoops are stamped in Polished Pink and Fresh Freesia. (two of the new InColors). The cone is punched out of the DSP and glued directly to the rectangle. I glued the first scoop direct to paper and the Fresh Freesia with Dimensionals.  Did you notice the vellum square doily behind the rectangle? Of course, I couldn’t resist adding a few InColor Jewels. They are so beautiful.

I hope this has given you an idea how to use the new InColors with other existing colors.
